Daytime Community Centre for senior citizens 2013-01-20 , meetings of senior citizens

It’s been six months since Daytime Community Centre began operating in “Okrąglak.” It is the only place in Zamość where twice a week senior citizens are given an opportunity to spend some quality time in the company of volunteers, interesting guests and other senior members.

Planned activities include:

  • Music therapy with Tadeusz Flor
  • Book therapy with Iwona Proczka
  • Culture therapy with Marzena Miśkiewicz
  • Arts and crafts classes with Dorota Nowosad

What is more, lectures on safety and senior health are organized in the Centre. Supervised by Ewa Popławska, the Centre was brought to life as a part of two projects jointly financed by the Foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future” and The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. The project’s creators and coordinators are Ewa Szczepańska and Krystyna Rybińska-Smyk. Other forms of activities include personal development and memory training (10 participants) as well as computer workshops (10 participants). The Centre also arranges cultural outings (the latest one was the screening of “Anna Karenina”). High attendance and the satisfaction of the senior members attest to the importance of such forms of support.
